An outstanding opportunity exist to become a part of a growing boutique law firm in an entry level legal role which will allow the successful candidate to be exposed to multiple areas of the law as we scale our Firm. As we scale our Firm we are in pursuit of a young attorney who is willing to learn and grow with us!

ABOUT YOU:

You will be energetic with a strong practical knowledge of Employment, Contract, Commercial Law, Personal Injury and other Civil Litigation matters. A fast learner with a creative expression of the law. You will be a self-starter, self-motivated, able to think independently and at the same time want to continue to learn and develop your skill set. You will be a thinker and problem solver. You will be a team player.

YOUR ROLE INCLUDES, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO:

You will be joining a small but growing, dynamic law firm, reporting to the Managing Attorney;
You will maintain files and records of all contracts and legal documents using our law firm software and Company Sharepoint;
You will aid in the representation of clients before conciliators, tribunals, panels, Lower and Supreme Courts;
You will assist with client intake and carryout a number of administrative duties to ensure the running of the firm including maintaining time sheet records;
You will adhere to and assist with firm’s compliance requirements regarding AML/CTF;
You will liaise with government agencies and other third party institutions on behalf of the client and the firm;
You will complete court applications and supporting filings, immigration applications, etc.
You will assist with company formations, searches and preparation of company documents;
You will have the opportunity of a lifetime to help build a dynamic law firm.

SKILLS NEEDED:

- 3-5 years of consistent legal experience after call
- Computer and technology savvy
- LLB from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice in The Bahamas
- Experience with court matters
- Experience with drafting legal contracts (e.g. NDAs, Sales, Service and Employment Agreements, etc.), directors’ resolutions, Company documents
- General knowledge of company incorporation and formation
- Working knowledge of labour laws, corporate and commercial law, personal injury matters;
- As a bonus areas of civil law.
